About your role

As a Senior Support Worker, you will be supporting individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities, Behaviours of concern, Physical Disabilities, Mental Health, Epilepsy and Complex Needs.
The people we support within our services are more likely to display challenging behaviour towards you, so the ability to remain calm and level-headed in all situations would be advantageous.
You will be required to care for adults with Mental Health and Learning Disabilities providing a fulfilling environment where clients can develop to their full potential.
You will also undertake delegated supervisory management responsibilities and provide leadership to less experienced staff to ensure the development of best care practice and optimal outcomes for clients. Previous experience of working in the care sector or a secure environment is desirable.
Role Responsibilities
12. Provide support in a way that is respectful, promotes dignity and independence.
13. Provide support in any location appropriate to meet the needs of the people we support.
14. Communicating with the people you support using appropriate communication methods.
15. Assisting with individuals’ care, including personal care.
16. Participating in the development and implementation of support plans.
17. Assisting the people we support with household activities.
18. Ordering, receiving, storing, and administering medication to the people you support.
19. Participating, planning, and running of the day-to-day events of the service.
20. Recording and completing any appropriate documentation.
Role Requirements
21. Excellent communication skills, as well as excellent listening skills, as you will be supporting people who use various methods of communication.
22. Knowledge/experience/desire to support individuals with Mental Health, Learning Disabilities or Challenging Behaviour is essential.
23. Good basic comprehension of English language including basic literacy and numerical skills i.e., GCSE level or equivalent.
24. Ongoing commitment to own personal development and training.
As senior support worker You will also undertake delegated supervisory management responsibilities and provide leadership to less experienced staff to ensure the development of best care practice and optimal outcomes for clients.
Full UK driving licence is essential.
