The City Council is the biggest landlord in Milton Keynes with more than 11,000 properties.
As Team Leader in the Home Ownership Team, you’ll play a key role in coordinating and managing a people-focused and effective service for our shared owner and leasehold residents.
With the new Consumer Standards in mind, we’ll be consulting with tenants and leaseholders on how we shape and deliver our services. This role will identify how services should be delivered to remain effective and be good value for money.
You’ll bring experience and enthusiasm to manage the Home Ownership Team, creating a positive cross-team working culture.

Main Responsibility
* Manage the team responsible for offering support and advice to residents regarding their service charge accounts, lease assignments and variations.
* Take the lead in managing the S20 Consultation process, liaising with Asset, Housing and Finance to ensure timely communication, and recovery of the Major Works invoices.
* Coordinate the Right to Buy process for tenants, from the application to sale completion – ensuring Government legislation, regulation and guidelines are adhered to.
* Ensure accurate, timely and quality data management relating to operational performance and KPIs, through continuous improvement.
The Ideal Candidate
* Demonstrate excellent people skills, evidencing previous line management experience, and collaborative working relationships.
* Proven experience of working with homeowners, demonstrating knowledge of current legislation relating to Landlord responsibilities.
* Demonstrate a thorough understanding of current and future issues of leasehold management, service charges, and S20 Consultation requirements.
* CIH Level 4 or working towards qualification, or evidence of required knowledge and experience.
* For this role, the candidate is required to have a full UK driving licence, along with access to a vehicle. Evidence of the driving licence and vehicle insurance with business insurance will be required from the candidate should they be offered this position. Without this documentation, the candidate will not be appointable.
