What You’ll be Doing as a Senior Quantity Surveyor/ Commercial Manager:
As a Senior Quantity Surveyor/ Commercial Manager, you will operate in a fully hybrid role involving frequent travel to regional businesses throughout the UK. The main purpose of this role is to manage the commercial aspects of a portfolio of installation and maintenance works across five P&L regions, working closely with operational leads both regional and national.
* In-region contract reviews up to a specified value
* Engage with Chubb's external FM/Property Management Contractor to ensure contractual delivery and challenge value for money on variable contract quotations and costs
* Work with colleagues in our legal team to support larger contract reviews
* Support negotiations to mitigate onerous terms, agreements, decisions, and risk profiles
* Provide ongoing commercial and contractual guidance and support for GM’s, operations, and sales colleagues
* Provide advisory service regarding various standard forms of agreement (including JCT, NEC, ICE, etc.), ensuring best practices are adopted and implemented
* Region/branch visits to directly support hands-on with teams
* WIP ageing controls including taking action, lettering customers, progressing handovers etc.
* BCIP optimising - taking action to optimise billing and cash
* Support GM’s and operations with day-to-day contractual issues
* Commercial and contractual training and guidance for GM’s, operations and sales
* Large tender support on T&C’s, pricing, risks and opportunities
* Final accounts - negotiation, optimisation and closure
* Legacy accounts - review and decisions
* Support finance colleagues with collection and expediting retention payments
* Support national account teams with T&C's for tenders, frameworks bids and dispute resolution/contested deliverables on live contracts
* Negotiate amendments to contracts of a specified value
* Delegated authority for non-standard T&C approval and negotiation
* Support tender approvals in respect of T&C’s working alongside sales, proposal, legal, and finance colleagues
* Administration of any applicable principal contracts in the regions (limited) including assisting with project control information, change management and cash collection
* Administration of larger subcontract agreements holistically under the portfolio (limited)
* Assist in development and responsibility for procurement and negotiation of all subcontracts (limited)
* Work with operations managers to identify early warnings within the main/subcontract environment
* Assist in the administration of instructions and the like
* Assist with preparation of accurate project control information to evaluate progress against agreed construction programme(s).

* RICS-accredited degree ideally demonstrating extensive experience

* Experience of quantifying works in accordance with standard measurement rules
* Experience in the administration and negotiation of contracts in both client and subcontract
* Experience in influencing and management of confrontational and difficult situations in a professional manner
