Axiom is a specialist Engineering Consultancy in the fields of Materials Engineering, Corrosion and Mechanical Engineering in addition to a UKAS Accredited Inspection body. We have grown successfully and now operate a global operation from our offices in Stockton-on-Tees, England.
We are looking for an Inspection Engineer & Site Leader who will help us achieve our goals. Investing heavily in our people, we recognise that the development of our staff is a key contributory factor of our success and can provide career progression to help you reach your full potential.
Responsibilities
* Provide inspection and engineering consultancy to AXIOM clients.
* Ensure planned inspection work on site is completed on time and to scope.
* Ensure that all sites have adequate resources to fulfil inspection requirements.
* Provide on-site day to day management of AXIOM Inspectors and NDT Technicians, including support to remote locations.
* To act as the focal point for the client enquiries or queries.
* Create and amend Written Schemes of Examinations (WSE).
* Review and approve inspection reports.
* Review of welding procedures and welding QA documentation.
* Take overviews of the inspection work to ensure inspections are suitable and that they meet the clients’ needs.
Qualifications & Competencies
* Essential – BEng in Mechanical, Chemical or Materials Engineering.
* Essential – Knowledge or certification of API 510, 570, 580, 653, EEMUA 159 and fired equipment, or willingness to achieve a minimum of 1 certification and API 580.
* Essential – Tangible, proven experience in on-site inspection within relevant industries, this may include Petrochemical sites, or experience from within a Plant Engineering role.
* Desirable – Chartership or willingness to achieve it.
* Desirable – Knowledge of NDT methods (MPI, Dye Pen, UT and Eddy Current Testing).
* Knowledge of welding procedures and welding QA packs.
* Knowledge of RBI methodology (API 580).
* Knowledge of fired/boiler equipment.
* Experience of specifying inspection intervals in accordance with approved codes and current Written Schemes of Examination.
* Experienced team leader with significant management potential for coordinating workloads.
* Highly effective interpersonal ability, including leadership, influencing and motivational skills.
* Effective organisational skills to meet deadlines.
* Comfortability working from heights and in confined spaces.
* Full clean UK Driving License with access to a personal vehicle. Please note: Travel nationally is required on occasion for this role and is not a pivotal responsibility.
