Teacher of History
Required for 1st September 2025
Permanent contract
Ladybridge High School is a warm, friendly and successful school with a clear mission and agreed beliefs that are shared across the school community. We are focused on achieving strong academic outcomes through a rounded education that prepares our learners for life. We are committed to our ‘Trivium’ approach to education, which is summarised on our website.
The History department is on an exciting journey of rapid improvement to deliver an exceptional education to all learners. The department is highly welcoming, supportive and ambitious in both our curriculum and expectations of learners. We are significantly changing and improving our History curriculum, with anticipated growth in student recruitment at KS4 over the coming years.
Ladybridge balances high expectations with a supportive and thoughtful approach to staff wellbeing. This includes:
1. 20% PPA time (double the national expectation of 10%)
2. A flexible working afternoon each fortnight, where teachers can leave the site at lunchtime.
3. A staff iPad to enable a more flexible approach to working around school and in the classroom.
4. A study hall to centralise cover for absent staff - reducing both supply staff and the frequency of internal cover.
5. A collaborative approach to lesson planning and resourcing across the department.
The wonderfully diverse population of learners, the emphasis on professional learning for staff, and the friendly atmosphere make Ladybridge an interesting and enjoyable place to work. We aspire to be an ‘evidence-informed’ school where teachers are encouraged to read, research, collaborate, and take calculated risks in the classroom.
This post is suitable for ECTs and experienced teachers.
