Technical Buyer
We are seeking a Technical Buyer to join our team in Burton on Trent. The successful candidate will be responsible for the strategic procurement of technical equipment, machinery, and services required for our operations.
* Strategic Sourcing & Procurement: Source, evaluate, and select suppliers for technical and engineering equipment and services.
* Negotiate contracts: Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing with suppliers to ensure best value and high quality.
* Develop procurement strategies: Develop and implement procurement strategies that align with company objectives and project timelines.
* Supplier Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers to ensure consistent quality, delivery, and cost-efficiency.
* Cost Control: Develop and manage procurement budgets, seeking opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining quality.
* Technical Evaluation & Support: Conduct technical evaluations of products, equipment, and supplier capabilities to ensure alignment with company standards.
* Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with company policies, ethical standards, and industry regulations in all procurement activities.
Requirements
* 3+ years of experience in a procurement, sourcing, or buying role with a technical focus, preferably in manufacturing or engineering.
* Strong understanding of technical products and components; ability to read and interpret engineering specifications.
* Proficiency in strategic sourcing, contract management, and supplier negotiation.
* Experience with ERP or procurement software (SAP, Oracle, etc.) and Microsoft Office Suite.
* Excellent negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills; analytical mindset and attention to detail.
