Community Nurse - Duty Desk Clinician - Abingdon & Banbury
Band 5
An exciting development opportunity has arisen for a motivated Band 5 community nurse to join the team in either a 12 month fixed term or secondment opportunity in the newly created duty desk team.
The role will focus on triaging patients referred into the duty desk via SPA for further care under the existing District nursing teams. The position is open to those who currently work as a community nurse, are in stage 2-3 of the career progression framework and are looking to develop their skills in triage.
The successful candidate will work on the duty desk in the initial transition from locality working to a centralised duty desk. You will work alongside a larger team of staff all recruited for the duty desk alone, these will include a selection of administrators and trained nurses with different experiences.
The successful candidate will be responsible for triaging patients on the triage waiting lists and complex emails. There may be the opportunity to be involved in the development of the service including training of future staff. The role will be a combination of Duty desk and clinical.
Responsibilities and training will be tailored accordingly.
Main duties of the job
This opportunity is available to nurses who are ready to take the next step into developing their own community career. In return, we will support your progression through a District Nursing career progression framework, including advanced clinical practice and leadership training in this area. You will also receive regular 1:1 support and development and annual appraisal, regular group clinical supervision with your peers, and an internal training programme around clinical triage.
