An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Occupational Therapy Assistant (OTA) working within Independent Living Services.
About the job
The successful applicant will carry out non-complex occupational therapy assessments with clients who have permanent and substantial impairments, within their own home environment or a hospital setting.
The successful applicant will also be responsible for undertaking assessments of need and agreeing outcomes with service users and carers. Interventions are likely to include equipment provision and non-complex adaptations.
What We Are Looking For From You
You will need to have a good understanding of the ethos of Occupational Therapy and the role of the OTA within the community OT team.
You will have an excellent knowledge of OT disability equipment and its use within the home environment.
You will have excellent communication and organisational skills, and the ability to problem solve and provide outcome focused interventions.
The successful candidate must also be able to work to strict deadlines and be extremely flexible. You must be able to work autonomously as well as being able to work as part of a team.
Minimum Requirements
It is essential that you have experience of working proactively with clients with physical disabilities and/or older people, hold a full valid driving licence and have use of a vehicle with business insurance.
