This is a role for a Registered Nurse to work nights at Avery Healthcare, a large provider of luxury elderly care homes in the UK. The nurse will be responsible for managing the care team, overseeing the distribution of medication, and providing high-quality nursing care to residents.
Main duties of the job
As a Registered Nurse at Avery Healthcare, you will be responsible for acting as the person in charge during your shift, standing in for the Manager as required. Your focus will be on ensuring high standards of care for our residents, including undertaking nursing tasks like medication distribution, dressings, catheterisation, and managing chronic conditions. You will also be responsible for supervising and deploying the care team, advising families and GPs of any changes, and providing accurate assessments and care planning.

About the Role
Your focus as a Registered Nurse will be to act as the person in charge, standing in for the Manager as required and observe all instructions to act upon his/her behalf whilst ensuring high standards of care to our residents.
Other responsibilities will include:
* Undertaking nursing tasks including distribution of medication, dressings, catheterisation, tube feeding, and management of chronic medical conditions.
* Advising families of residents and GPs of any changes in condition, which gives rise to concern and keeps them informed and involved in choices for ongoing care.
* Responsibility for the effective deployment and supervision of staff within the care team, ensuring all tasks are completed during the period of duty and residents receive required care.
* Providing high standards of care by undertaking accurate assessment and planning.
About You

Our ideal candidate must:
* Hold a First Level qualification and current NMC Registration.
* Demonstrate a minimum of 2 years' experience and up-to-date knowledge of care, supported by relevant post-basic studies/qualification.
* Display good interpersonal skills and ability to instruct and demonstrate care activities.
* Have sound knowledge of care planning and its practical application.
