In a nutshell
You’ll be assisting the delivery of inspirational designs that support the values of the category vision and ambition. Working with the Designers & Senior Designers to build relationships with suppliers and the design teams behind the suppliers to create original, exclusive product.
You will assist in delivering key seasonal styles and help to drive newness throughout the range. With a capable hand in CAD software (including Adobe Illustrator, Indesign, photoshop, Fusion 360 and Keyshot) you will not only support the senior designer in creating product briefs but be able to do this independently when required. You will need to be able to deliver innovative and commercial product for our broad range of customer types.
As well as being a good communicator helping to representing the team in front of key stakeholders, you’ll manage your time effectively ensuring adherence to the critical path.
What I need to do
1. General design admin and support for Design team
2. Will be required to travel to sample centres in Coventry and Milton Keynes
3. Awareness of the strategic direction for design department
4. Bought sample management
5. Material swatch library management
6. Assisting designers in formulating concept, colour and trend boards for presentations and meetings
7. Responsible for the creation of project briefs
8. Emailing/posting all Design specs to relevant suppliers in line with the critical path
9. Responsible for upkeep of design/artwork files
10. Responsible for maintenance and update of colour/theme/trend for relevant meetings
11. Working with external designers, communicating with SAAL (Sainsburys Argos Asia Limited) and suppliers when required.
12. Assist with preparation for selection, sign-off, review and trading meetings
13. Liaise with the Designers and buyers ahead of selection and sign off meetings
14. Raise orders for design stationery where relevant.
15. Visit stores, trade fairs and press shows where appropriate and compile reports.
16. Conduct competitor shop reports and update on internet fashions and feedback to team
17. Working collaboratively with designers and buyers to agree key developments for shopping lists.
18. Competent in CAD software (Adobe Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, Fusion 360, Keyshot)
19. Attending weekly trade meetings.
20. Represent the design team at graduate shows and events that the business engages with externally.
21. Assist designers in ensuring PR & Marketing have all the correct assets to tell the story behind each range.
22. Assist in the Mentoring of graduate work placements
