Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and innovative Design Technology Teacher to join the team of three partnering Telford based schools.
The successful candidates will inspire students through creative and practical design challenges while fostering their problem-solving, technical, and critical thinking skills. The Design Technology Teacher will teach students how to approach design projects, use materials and tools safely, and apply principles of engineering, product design, and sustainable practices.
Two roles are to start as soon as possible, with the third to start after half term, ideally all on a full-time basis!
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver engaging lessons across various design technology disciplines, including product design, CAD (computer-aided design), electronics, textiles, and engineering.
2. Ensure students have a solid understanding of key concepts such as design processes, material properties, and sustainability.
3. Maintain a positive and supportive classroom environment.
4. Regularly assess student work, providing detailed feedback on assignments, projects, and exams.
5. Maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance, and performance.
6. Promote safe working practices and ensure that health and safety guidelines are followed.
Qualifications / Experience:
1. A degree in Design Technology, Product Design, Engineering, or a related subject.
2. Qualified teacher status (QTS) or relevant teaching qualifications.
3. Strong knowledge of design technology principles, materials, and processes.
4. Experience in using CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, Fusion 360).
