Financial Accountant
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000
Location: Crawley, West Sussex | Permanent, Full-Time
We are currently recruiting on behalf of our client, a well-established and highly regarded manufacturing business based in Crawley, West Sussex, for the position of Financial Accountant. The successful candidate will report directly to the Finance Director and play a pivotal role within the finance team, supporting both UK and international entities. This role offers excellent scope for professional development and long-term career progression.
Key Responsibilities:
Preparation and presentation of financial accounting reports to senior management
Supporting month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring adherence to deadlines
Maintaining and reconciling general ledger accounts
Reviewing VAT returns and supporting internal audit processes
Managing cash flow forecasting and fixed asset control
Preparing statutory accounts under IFRS and supporting external audits
Assisting in the preparation of corporation tax returns and liaising with external advisors
Monitoring cost drivers and contributing to inventory and stock take processes
Supporting treasury management, including bank account oversight and inter-company transfers
Contributing to the overall financial strategy and seeking opportunities to improve efficiency
Keeping up to date with changes in financial legislation and regulatory requirements
Candidate Profile:
Essential Requirements:
Fully qualified accountant (ACCA)
Experience in a similar financial accounting role with responsibility across key operational areas
Proficient in cash flow management, capital expenditure, and fixed asset processes
Working knowledge of MRP/ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Navision or Dynamics 365
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to engage with senior stakeholders
High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organisational skills
Able to maintain confidentiality and work with integrity
Desirable Attributes:
Degree qualified in any discipline
Experience with a range of accounting software (SAP, Sage, QuickBooks, Xero, etc.)
Familiarity with payroll systems, particularly Iris Cascade
Working knowledge of UK financial regulations
Full UK driving licence
Remuneration and Benefits:
Salary between £50,000 – £60,000 depending on experience
Standard working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:45 – 17:15
5% employer pension contribution from the start of employment
