This role is based in the water industry and involves working on essential projects for United Utilities. The position is inside IR35 and is a 12-month contract, offering hybrid working arrangements from the Manchester office and UU sites.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Managing and overseeing the delivery of mechanical engineering projects
2. Ensuring that all mechanical system designs meet the required standards and regulations
3. Collaboration with multidisciplinary teams to ensure project objectives are met
4. Coordinating with stakeholders, including contractors and utility providers
5. Providing technical guidance and support throughout the project lifecycle
6. Preparing project documentation including reports, schedules, and technical specifications
7. Conducting site assessments and inspections to ensure compliance with project requirements
8. Identifying and mitigating potential project risks
Job Requirements:
1. Proven experience in mechanical engineering within the water sector
2. Strong understanding of mechanical system design and project management principles
3. Familiarity with industry standards and regulations relevant to mechanical systems
4. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
5. Ability to work effectively within a team and independently
6. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
