Warehouse Supervisor - Theale, Berkshire.
We are looking to recruit an experienced warehouse supervisor to work for an electrical components and networking distribution company based in Theale, Berkshire.
Job Description and Responsibilities:
The role of the warehouse supervisor is to supervise all the day-to-day activities in the warehouse, ensuring all activities are carried out effectively. The role also involves key operational administrative tasks, typically linked to stock management and the effective processing of purchase and sales orders through operations.
As the senior person within the operations, you will be expected to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity. The role will involve close cooperation with all internal departments, particularly Sales, Technical Support, and Finance.
Overall Responsibilities:
We are looking for a person to supervise all the day-to-day activities in the warehouse.
You will also be responsible for managing the flow of sales orders for dispatch.
You will be working closely with the Operations Manager to help manage stock and other key aspects of the operations department.
1. Maintain and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the warehouse services to optimise benefits to customers, suppliers, and the company.
2. Help devise new procedures/systems reflecting the changing requirements of the company.
Specific Responsibilities:
The person will be responsible for the following:
1. Warehouse responsibilities - Supervising the following:
1. Goods in receipts and stock arrival.
2. Maintaining Goods in Quarantine procedures to ensure stock checks are carried out efficiently on all incoming stock.
3. Ensure all documentation is correctly actioned for accuracy of stock (e.g., carry out GRN bookings as required).
4. Highlight any quantity or cost discrepancies immediately.
5. Maintaining shelf stock and bulk stock areas with clear identification.
6. Ensure supplier rejects and repairs are receipted and dispatched within two weeks.
7. Customer order dispatch within a timely fashion under the current company requirement.
8. Maintain prescribed safety requirements in the warehouse.
1. Stock:
1. Responsibility for accuracy of stock.
2. Investigate and resolve stock discrepancies.
3. Maintain all customer bonded stock to optimised levels.
1. Managing and Development of Warehouse Personnel:
1. The position may also be responsible for managing, directing, guiding, and monitoring additional personnel to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the warehouse.
Qualifications and Experience:
* Engineering/technical background and knowledge of electronic components would be beneficial.
* Knowledge of ESD protection and procedures would be an advantage.
* Holder of a Reach Forklift Truck Certificate/License.
* Organised and self-motivated individual, able to work accurately and unsupervised.
Hours: Monday - Friday 8.30am - 4.30pm
