Job summary An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for an exceptional clinical pharmacist to join our large and friendly pharmacy team at University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire NHS Trust. The successful pharmacist will be part of our highly valued and skilled surgical team and play a vital role in providing a specialised clinical service to patients across all theatres, T&O and major trauma unit. You will already have experience or a keen interest in the pharmaceutical care of post-surgical patients and major trauma patients, along with a desire to develop your service improvement skills. You will preferably have first-hand experience of managing surgical wards and post-operative patients. You will spend time providing a patient-focused clinical service to our major trauma wards and be trained to support theatre services and their service expansion/development. The ideal candidate will be ambitious, self-motivated and organised with excellent communication, time management and interpersonal skills. Main duties of the job The primary role for the post holder is to lead on the management and provision of a comprehensive, high quality pharmacy service to Trauma and orthopaedics wards and specialties. Post holder will also support our pharmacy clinical services improvement projects such as development of pre-op assessment service, day case pathways at UHCW and St Cross hospital and Community diagnostic centre development (CDC). The role will be supported by band 6 and 7 rotational pharmacist, which post holder will provide supervision for their development.
