Launch Manager - 12 Month FTC
Main purpose of the job:
To provide support to the Plant through the management and coordination of all launch related activities
Main objectives and results:
1. Lead cross functional on time, on cost product launches
2. Successful co-ordination of running changes
3. Implementation and team adherence to IAC Project Management Systems
4. Manage plant interface in support of Program targets
5. Demonstrate an understanding of JIT/Lean Manufacturing System, general manufacturing, and application of the PFMEA/DFMEA/FMEA
6. Write and follow up detailed and effective timing and action plans
7. Foster an effective personal working relationship with all departments
8. Direct cross functional team to ensure prompt responses to program needs
9. Maintain IAC and personal credibility with the customer and balance of customer relationship and IAC profitability
10. Interface and co-ordinate responses with IAC Commercial team
11. Ensure Launch Readiness Reviews are complete and updated every month
12. Launch Readiness Documents - identify and lead to resolution of key issues
13. Ensure Phase Reviews are held on time, regardless of whether or not exit can be achieved
14. Exit exceptions are documented and progress to completion is monitored
15. Clearly identify and follow up issues requiring management intervention
16. Maintain launch timing plans
17. Continually update progress and incorporate contingency plans and risk mitigation strategies into master timeline
18. Apply, execute and maintain function related Project Milestones/Timing Plans
19. Any other tasks, activities and responsibilities that may be individually defined
Preferred Skills and Experience:
20. BSc / HND in an Engineering or Business discipline
21. At least 5 years’ experience in automotive manufacturing, ideally a Tier 1 supplier
22. Proven experience of managing multiple projects from development to launch
23. Proven experience of managing cross functional project teams in a matrix organisation
24. Evidence of achieving results through focussed leadership and mentoring
25. Evidence of effective budget management
26. Excellent customer and Supplier relationship management
27. Working knowledge of costing/quoting process
28. Program management knowledge
29. Knowledge of automotive development, drawings, production & logistics
30. Business, commercial and financial understanding
31. MS Project, MS Office
32. Excellent organisational and communicational skills as well as a strong sense of urgency and an ability to work under pressure.
33. Confident decision maker and proactive problem solver, with a hands-on approach.
34. Strong leadership capabilities and proven management experience with the ability to work as an individual or as part of a team.
