We currently have a fantastic opportunity available for a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to join our team based in Exeter. You will join us on a full-time, permanent basis, and in return, you will receive a competitive salary of £34,368 - £40,729 per annum You will also receive a guaranteed standby allowance (working a 1 in 8 rotation), plus additional payments for call out and overtime opportunities.You will also be entitled to a company van and a range of excellent company benefits.You will be required to work a 37 hour week and benefit from 1 in 4 Fridays off. About the role: As the Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical Craftsperson) you will take ownership of fault finding, repairing and maintaining assets across a range of Operational sites for both Drinking Water Services and Waste Water Services. Carrying out planned work as derived from maintenance scheduled activities on operational assets. You will provide services to a high standard in a sustainable manner that meets the required internal and external customer service levels, whilst minimising risk to compliance and meeting quality requirements.In this role, you will utilise your experience in executing permanent asset preservation techniques by supporting in both a reactive and proactive capacity, with the ability to identify assets that require repair works, prevention of future faults and breaks, in addition to providing recommendations to stakeholders across the business on required planned maintenance to implement permanent solutions.
What you will be doing:
1. Carry out reactive maintenance on mechanical equipment to the highest standard of workmanship
2. Providing recommended/detailed specifications of parts for ordering of stock replacements and parts needed to undertake repairs
3. Manufacturing and fabrication of parts and equipment
4. Undertaking any training required in order to carry out work activities in a safe or legal manner
5. Carrying out work activities as scheduled
6. Assisting Operational staff with the resolution of complex problems
7. Keeping our internal customers updated with activities which may impact on their processes
8. Using or if necessary requesting method statements and safe systems of work for the activities you carry out
9. Acting as the duty Mechanical Craftperson on a standby/call-out rota basis
What we are looking for:
10. A completed apprenticeship in a relevant technical discipline
11. A full understanding of related RAMS to deliver an effective and safe maintenance regime
12. Experience of working with Waste Water treatment processes would be desirable
13. Ability to fault find and repair large complex pieces of mechanical equipment
14. A full UK driving license is required
