The Warehouse Manager role As our Warehouse Manager, you will directly manage all warehouse operations at the local Regional Distribution Centre, leading the team to ensure efficient stock handling, timely receipt, enabling prompt delivery to our customers. Ensuring high customer service standards are maintained, meeting and exceeding their expectations and in turn, helping to contribute towards regional sales and profit targets being achieved whilst optimising logistics processes and driving operational efficiency. Your remit will encompass staff management, operational planning, performance monitoring, and continuous improvement initiatives. Fostering a culture of excellence and collaboration, a key role is played in achieving organisational goals and delivering value to customers and stakeholders, supporting sustainable growth in line with our company objectives. Warehouse Manager Key Responsibilities Lead and supervise a diverse team including Supervisors and Warehouse Operatives Set clear targets and conduct regular performance assessments to ensure team effectiveness. Provide ongoing training and coaching opportunities to enhance team performance and individual growth. Contribute to developing and implementing the Central Logistics strategy aligned with organisational goals. Collaborate with stakeholders to identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimisation. Oversee all logistics operations including material receipt, storage, and dispatch. Ensure efficient scheduling of deliveries, aiming for a 24/48-hour service. Monitor operational costs and help to deliver against any cost-saving initiatives. Optimise resource utilisation to enhance efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Assist the Operations Manager in implementing the Performance Improvement process. Ensure resources are available for stock counts to maintain inventory accuracy. Collaborate with Sales to meet or exceed customer delivery expectations. Foster positive relationships with stakeholders to enhance satisfaction and efficiency. Implement safety protocols to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with regulations. Take full responsibility for warehouse and loading bay health & safety. Ensure adherence to warehouse processes and identify areas for improvement. Continuously review and develop processes to enhance efficiency and productivity. Oversee maintenance of plant and equipment to support uninterrupted operations. Report any building defects and coordinate repairs for a safe working environment. Work within ISO9001 and ISO14001 policies to maintain quality and environmental standards. Adhere to company policies and guidelines in all aspects of work. What you will bring The successful applicant will ideally meet with the below criteria Essential: Minimum 2 years' experience of warehouse/logistics management role Effective leadership style with ability to coach, mentor, train & develop staff Experience of working within a fast-paced sales distribution environment Strong computing/PC skills (including MS Office products & outlook) Strong grasp of general health & safety principles including manual handling Desirable: Holder of Forklift licence (Counterbalance/Reach or Bendi Truck, Pivot Steer at certain sites) Knowledge/experience of packaging or similar related consumable items Experience of working for similar large/national multi-site (or decentralised) organisation What you will get We provide a competitive basic starting salary and operate a range of rewarding bonus/incentive schemes.
