We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Foreman to join our team in a busy factory. The successful candidate will oversee daily operations on the factory floor. This role requires strong leadership skills, flexibility, and the ability to foster a positive and enthusiastic working environment. Must be prepared to work on the shop floor when required therefore have experience as a sheet metal fabricator.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Supervise and coordinate the activities of production workers, ensuring efficient workflow and adherence to production schedules.
2. Monitor production processes to ensure that products meet quality standards and specifications.
3. Ensure that health and safety regulations are strictly followed, conducting regular safety checks and risk assessments.
4. Operate a forklift as needed, ensuring the safe handling of materials.
5. Train and develop team members, providing guidance and support to improve performance and skills.
6. Foster a positive, enthusiastic, and team-oriented working environment.
7. Manage resources effectively, including materials, equipment, and labour, to maximise productivity.
8. Report on production progress, identifying any issues or bottlenecks and implementing corrective actions.
Qualifications and Experience:
1. Proven experience as a Foreman or in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment, with specific experience in sheet metal work.
2. Valid forklift license is required.
3. Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes and machinery, particularly in sheet metal fabrication.
4. Must be flexible with working requirements, able to adapt to changing production needs and schedules.
5. Must be enthusiastic and capable of fostering a positive working environment.
6. Strong team player with excellent leadership and team management skills.
7. Good understanding of health and safety regulations and procedures.
8. Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
9. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
10. Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
11. Basic IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office.
