Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of a school in Yeovil who cater for female students between the ages of 11-16 who are unable to attend mainstream school. This is due to Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) and Trauma. They believe in giving young people the tools and opportunities to create the lives they want for themselves. Pupils are helped to make progress to realise their potential and ambitions. As an English Teacher, you will deliver high quality teaching and learning to young people aged 11-16 with social and emotional difficulties, anxiety disorders and mental health needs. The focus is on increasing academic and vocational qualifications and knowledge, whilst achieving independent living skills that will equip young people for the next stage in their lives, be that further education, training or work. Key duties: Contribute to the delivery and development of the curriculum, having regard to the educational, physical and social needs of the students within a learning environment. Work collaboratively with other members of staff as part of a multi-disciplinary team. Maintain and use short-, medium- and long-term plans in delivering the curriculum. Set, monitor and review personalised targets that will optimise learning for each individual. Contribute to the review of Statements and EHC plans, PEP and LAC reviews. Provide clear structures for lessons maintaining pace, motivation and challenge. This is a full time position starting ASAP. The school are open to discussing permanent opportunities for the right candidate. You would need to drive and have access to a vehicle as the school is not easily accessed by public transport.
