Head of Company Secretarial Department Shrewsbury Permanent Salary up to £45,000 DOE 9am – 5pm Monday to Friday We are recruiting for a Head of Company Secretarial Department on behalf of our prestigious client in Shrewsbury. This role involves leading the company secretarial team, ensuring all statutory duties and governance processes are completed accurately and on time. You’ll provide guidance on best practices, oversee compliance, and work closely with senior management and stakeholders. Your responsibilities will be: Leadership & Management: Lead, support, and develop the company secretarial team. Delegate tasks and manage workloads to meet deadlines. Act as the key link between the team and senior management. Drive continuous improvement and best practices in company secretarial processes. Company Secretarial Duties: Maintain accurate company records, including directorship changes and statutory filings. Ensure full compliance with company law and regulatory obligations. Oversee the preparation of agendas, minutes, and resolutions for board and governance meetings. Advise on regulatory changes affecting the business. Regulatory & Compliance: Manage timely statutory filings with Companies House. Provide governance support and ensure directors comply with legal responsibilities. Monitor and implement legislative and regulatory updates. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with external advisors, regulators, and internal departments. Collaborate with legal and operational teams to support smooth processes. Essential Skills & Experience: Senior company secretarial experience (property or real estate sector preferred). Strong knowledge of company law, governance, and compliance. Proven team management and stakeholder engagement skills. Excellent organisation, attention to detail, and communication abilities. Proficiency in company secretarial software and Microsoft Office. Desirable: Chartered Secretary qualification (ICSA/CGI) or equivalent. Legal qualification (LLB/LPC) a plus. Experience in property management or leasehold companies. Understanding of leasehold conveyancing and compliance reporting.
