The school:
The school is located within the Birkenhead area (CH44) and is recognised as a school that promotes a welcoming and supportive learning environment for all pupils. The school is Ofsted rated GOOD and has received excellent feedback regarding the quality of teaching provided, as well as opportunities for pupils to try new and exciting things. The school promotes many enrichment opportunities, including for pupils with SEND, who benefit from a range of educational visits. The school adapts activities so that pupils with SEND can access the same ambitious curriculum as others. Given that the school has higher than average levels of SEND and disadvantaged pupils, experience of working with SEND or in areas of high disadvantage would be beneficial, although it is not essential.
The role:
As a KS2 Classroom Teacher, you will be expected to plan and teach the Year 6 curriculum, ensuring that learning is both fun and interesting, and accessible to pupils of all ability levels, including those with SEND. You will also attend to other classroom responsibilities, including participating in or leading extracurricular activities during and after the school day. Proven experience of working with and managing the delegation of other adults or TAs within a classroom environment would be beneficial, although it is not an essential requirement. Furthermore, the school is looking to improve how their current science curriculum is taught, so expertise in teaching primary science would be a bonus, though not essential.
