About the Role We are seeking a skilled and proactive Site Manager to oversee civil works on a live chemical site. You will lead and manage construction activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Working in a high-risk environment, your expertise in health, safety, and project management will be essential in ensuring successful project delivery. Key Responsibilities Project Management: Oversee all civil engineering works, including excavation, drainage, structural installations, and foundations. Plan and coordinate works to meet project milestones and budgetary targets. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE): Implement and enforce strict safety protocols, adhering to COMAH regulations and chemical site requirements. Conduct risk assessments, review method statements, and ensure safe systems of work. Leadership & Coordination: Manage site teams, subcontractors, and suppliers effectively. Chair daily site meetings and toolbox talks. Act as the main point of contact between the client, engineers, and stakeholders. Quality & Compliance: Ensure all works comply with engineering specifications, industry standards, and quality assurance protocols. Monitor progress, prepare reports, and resolve on-site issues promptly. What We’re Looking For Qualifications: Degree or HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) certification. NEBOSH or IOSH certification is desirable. Experience: Proven experience in civil engineering projects, ideally within high-risk or COMAH-regulated environments. Strong track record in managing subcontractors, budgets, and schedules. Skills: Comprehensive understanding of civil engineering principles, materials, and construction methods. Exceptional leadership, communication, and organisational skills. Proficiency in project management tools such as MS Project or Primavera. Additional Requirements: First aid certification and knowledge of confined space regulations.
