English Graduate Teaching Assistant – Full-Time Role Location: Levenshulme Contract: Full-time, starting after Easter until the end of the academic year Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week Teaching Personnel is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated English Graduate to join a Good Ofsted-rated secondary school in Levenshulme as a Teaching Assistant. This role is ideal for graduates considering a future career in teaching, educational psychology, or related fields and looking to gain valuable experience in a school setting. The Role: As an English Graduate Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teachers to support students in developing their reading, writing, and analytical skills. Your role will involve assisting in English lessons, providing additional support to students who may need help with literacy, and contributing to a positive learning environment. Key responsibilities include: Supporting students in English lessons, helping them understand key literary concepts and improve their writing skills. Providing targeted intervention for students who require additional support in literacy and comprehension. Assisting teachers in preparing lesson materials, marking work, and organising classroom activities. Delivering one-to-one and small-group tuition sessions to reinforce learning. Encouraging students to engage with texts and develop a love for literature. Supporting students with special educational needs (SEN) by adapting learning strategies to meet their needs. Assisting with exam preparation, revision sessions, and essay-writing techniques. Monitoring student progress and providing feedback to teachers to support learning outcomes. Promoting positive behaviour and engagement in lessons. Ensuring all safeguarding policies and procedures are followed to maintain a safe and supportive learning environment. The Ideal Candidate: We are looking for an English Graduate who: Holds a degree in English Literature, English Language, or a related subject. Is passionate about education and supporting young people’s learning. Has strong literacy and communication skills. Can build positive relationships with students and motivate them to succeed. Has experience working with young people in an educational, mentoring, or tutoring capacity (preferred but not essential). Is adaptable, patient, and confident in delivering support to students with varying abilities. Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training will be provided).
