Job Description
Ramboll invite you to apply for a Civil Engineering Technician Apprenticeship where you will learn how to draw, 3D model and design Civil Engineering works such as drainage, pavement design and other external works across a wide range of buildings projects throughout the UK and beyond. You will be provided full support to achieve a Level 3 qualification which aims to create a solid foundation for a successful and satisfying career.
The Apprenticeship Programme Duration, Cost and Qualifications
The duration of the academic course is 36 months and will likely be provided by Cambridge Regional College. You would typically work for 4 days a week within your job delivery role and study would be 1 day a week via online tutor led sessions with a cohort of up to 16 other apprentices. You will be required to complete an End Point Assessment where you will need to demonstrate that during the apprenticeship you have learnt the required knowledge, skills and behaviours. The cost of the Apprenticeship is paid by Ramboll through the Apprenticeship Levy.
The apprenticeship would lead to the following qualifications:
* Level 3 Civil Engineering Technician Apprenticeship
* Engineering Technician (EngTech) (optional)
o Awarding Body - ICE
* Pearson BTEC Level 3 National Diploma in Civil Engineering
o Awarding Body - Pearson
* Functional Skills English and maths (if required)
You will join our Buildings department
As our new Civil Engineering Apprentice, you will join our Birmingham, Manchester, Cambridge or Southampton offices. You will be working with a close knit and supportive team of experts, who pride themselves on working towards a common goal of providing you with the best experience and training available. You will have your own line manager and mentor, both of which are / have been, apprentices and therefore have first hand knowledge of the route and mechanisms involved in your training.
Your key tasks and responsibilities will be:
* Working on Small, Medium and Large projects, producing 3D models, visualisations, drawings and schedules that describe how to build our award-winning designs under the leadership of the discipline manager
* You will learn to use an extensive suite of cutting-edge CAD applications
* You will be working alongside the rest of the Buildings team, and teams of all disciplines nationally and internationally across the Ramboll Group to deliver our projects
* Promote the Ramboll brand, its core values and our strategy as The Partner for Sustainable Change
* Apply and promote policies relating to health and safety, quality and the Environment

* Typically have at least 5 GCSEs at Grades 9-4 (A*-C) including Maths Grade 6 (B), English and Science or their equivalent
* A keen interest in the Built Environment
* Ability to proactively manage a diverse workload with differing timelines/priorities
* Capable of working as part of a team and, as your experience grows, more independently
* Strong technology skills
* For insurance liability purposes, successful candidates will need to evidence that they are a minimum of 18 years of age on the day of appointment
