About us: Little Street is an award winning play centre for young children, themed as a miniature version of a typical town, inspiring children to explore life in the world around them. Open 7 days a week, our leisure facilities provide a fun and educational play environment. The role: We are looking for a dynamic, enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to help manage our Play Centre in Riverhead, Sevenoaks (TN13 2AB). Due to the nature of the business you must be willing to work weekends, bank holidays and during school holidays. This role requires you to be working 4-5 days per week on a rolling shift rota. It is expected that you may be required to travel to our sister centre in Wallington (SM6 8RG) from time to time. You will be reporting to the manager, who manages both the Sevenoaks and Wallington play centres. Key responsibilities: Managing a team of approximately 5-10 employees. Organising and managing shift rotas, within working time regulations & budget. Dealing with customer enquiries face to face, by telephone and via email. Stock management and ordering. Recruitment and training of new team members. Carrying out annual appraisals / disciplinary meetings. Taking food & drinks orders / making and serving hot drinks. Ensuring all food preparation meets Health & Safety standards. Overseeing play. Ensuring all rules are adhered to. Preparing for and overseeing birthday parties. Tidying and cleaning duties. Ensuring the play centre meets brand standard criteria. Carrying out Health & Safety inspections. Skills & experience required: Exceptional customer service skills / complaint handling experience essential. Previous Management experience within leisure/retail/hospitality is preferred. Enthusiastic about working in a child centred environment. Cash handling experience. Good IT skills, Excel and Outlook essential. Shift planning experience. Works well under pressure. Displays ability to use own initiative. Responsible and reliable. Must be willing to provide sickness / holiday cover at short notice. Must be willing to travel to our sister centre. Previous experience working with children would be beneficial. Salary based on experience. £10.00 - £12.70 per hour plus performance related bonus £1,000, include pension and paid holiday.
