Job Description
The Equipment Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient use of equipment on the construction job site while following standard operating procedures.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct equipment inspections on all assigned equipment.
2. Perform minor repairs and/or maintenance as needed to assigned equipment.
3. Operate various equipment in support of Solar Site Operations, including telehandler, lull, outdoor forklift, backhoe, skid steer, trencher, track hoe, loader, dozer, mini excavator, and other similar equipment.
4. Review project plans and drawings to ensure that the project is built according to design.
5. Experience with basic tools and a mechanical inclination.
6. Excellent communication skills.
7. Maintain equipment and tools.
8. Lead and exemplify safe working practices.
Education and/or Work Experience Requirements:
1. Minimum of four (4) years of experience operating heavy equipment.
2. Ability to read and understand written instructions to comprehend simple processes and the routine operation of machines.
3. OSHA 10 certification.
4. Valid driver’s license.
5. High School Diploma or Equivalent.
6. Appropriate licenses or certifications to operate assigned types of vehicles or equipment.
7. Demonstrate competence necessary to perform the work.
8. Solar experience.
Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
The work is performed in the field and requires extended overnight stays. Physical labor is required, including carrying up to 50 lbs and assisting others in carrying objects greater than 50 lbs. The position requires the unrestricted use of hands, arms, shoulders, upper/lower back, visual acuity, depth, and perception.
