Collaborating with colleagues in the office, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring seamless IT support. While possessing a comprehensive understanding of the support needs across the office, your primary focus will be on servicing the Motherwell site, this strategic approach allows you to work cohesively with the broader team, ensuring a harmonious and efficient IT environment across the business. Your day to day: IT Systems Management: Responsible for overseeing and maintaining the organization's IT systems, encompassing hardware, software, and network infrastructure. Technical Support: Provide timely technical support to employees, addressing and troubleshooting issues to ensure the smooth operation of IT systems. Setting up IT systems for new starters across the business accurately and efficiently Technology Trends Monitoring: Stay up to date on the latest technology trends and develop Policy and Procedure Development: Develop and implement IT policies and procedures to enhance the security and efficiency of the organization's systems, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices. Collaboration: Collaborate with other departments to identify and address IT needs and requirements, continuously assessing opportunities for improvement and recommending upgrades to enhance overall efficiency. Installation and Configuration: Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of both hardware and software systems, ensuring they align with organizational objectives and meet performance standards. On call hours: Our contact center is open 6 days a week, weekend availability remotely would be desirable. Who are you: You will have worked as an IT professional within a fast paced, ever-changing environment. You will have the ability to prioritise, understanding the business impact of any IT issue and quickly identify and solve the problem. Given the data and systems you will be dealing with you will have a high degree of confidentiality and exceptional attention to detail. You will need to be flexible, helping colleagues with basic IT needs as well as those with a greater understanding of the basics and needing more advanced assistance. Sharing your knowledge to help push the business forward and be the IT site lead in key projects. Core Technical Expertise: Hands-on 2nd Line IT Support: Proven experience in providing direct IT support, troubleshooting, and resolving issues. Windows Server & Client Systems: Expertise in Windows Server 2022, Windows 10/11, and related technologies. Active Directory & Group Policies: Proficiency in both Azure and on-premises Microsoft Active Directory, WSUS, and Group Policy management. Basic Networking Skills: Experience with network components such as Routers, Switches, VLANS, DHCP, DNS, and DMZ. Office 365 Administration: Knowledge in managing Office 365 applications, including OneDrive, SharePoint, Intune, and PowerShell scripting. IT System Administration: Competence in IT systems maintenance, monitoring, and troubleshooting. Infrastructure and Cloud Proficiency IT Infrastructure Knowledge: Strong background in IT infrastructure technologies, such as networking, servers, storage, and virtualization. Cloud Computing Experience: Familiarity with cloud platforms and the ability to leverage cloud-based solutions effectively. Problem-Solving & Technical Support Advanced Troubleshooting: Exceptional ability to analyse and resolve complex technical issues swiftly and effectively. Technical Support Excellence: Experience in providing robust technical support and ensuring system uptime and reliability. Leadership & Communication Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and guide IT teams, ensuring collaboration and alignment with organizational goals. Effective Communication: Strong interpersonal skills to interact clearly with internal teams, departments, and external stakeholders. Capable of simplifying complex technical concepts for diverse audiences. Personal Attributes & Soft Skills Innovative Thinking: A proactive approach to overcoming challenges and seeking opportunities for continuous improvement. Collaborative Nature: Enjoys teamwork, public speaking, and maintaining strong communication across all levels. Dynamic & Analytical: Ability to assess both current and future trends, identifying potential risks and opportunities. In addition, it would be great if you had: Previous experience of working within a contact/call centre environment. Working knowledge of ITIL and/or ITSM tools.
