Our Environmental Planning team is seeking an Associate Technical Director EIA/SEA Consultant with broad EIA/SEA and planning experience. You will collaborate with technical specialists, lead and coordinate EIA/SEAs, establish strong client relationships, develop new business, and mentor team members.
Your work may involve protected species, pollution, surface water, materials management, air quality, or noise, in some of the world's busiest and most beautiful locations.

Your role will be crucial in improving environmental performance and delivering impact assessments for diverse projects, promoting technical excellence, and supporting a collaborative, innovative environment.
* Lead coordination and delivery of environmental work by multidisciplinary teams, influencing project development and outcomes
* Maintain high standards in your work and review others'
* Collaborate with the Environmental Planning team across the UK and internationally
* Manage projects or project components, including resource allocation, subcontractors, and quality assurance
* Support tender proposals and bids as part of a winning team
* Provide environmental advice to clients, project managers, and colleagues
* Engage with stakeholders and consultees
* Ensure added value for clients
* Develop comprehensive reports, explaining outcomes clearly to non-technical audiences
* Oversee project performance concerning technical, quality, commercial, and health and safety aspects
Qualifications & Experience:
* Strong knowledge of EIA practices, procedures, case law, and environmental principles
* Experience with various project types, including energy and rail sectors
* Proven ability to manage EIA screening, scoping, and Environmental Statements, including specialist chapters
* Practical understanding of UK planning and consenting processes
* Excellent report writing, presentation, and review skills
* Experience in multidisciplinary project coordination and leadership
* Negotiation skills with planning authorities and stakeholders
* Ability to work within a team and supervise staff
* Commercial skills including forecasting and project management
* Relevant degree, preferably chartered or working towards
* Valid UK driving license
* Experience with SEA and IIA projects is advantageous
* Knowledge of sustainability, waste, or carbon assessments is desirable
