You will be responsible for the care of a large range of animals, including reptiles, quails, rabbits, mice, guinea pigs and chinchillas. You will also work with groups of students showing them how to handle the animals correctly and how to care for them. Key Responsibilities: Provide daily care and maintenance of animals Monitor the health and well-being of animals Maintain a clean and safe environment for animals Leading practical lessons such as enrichment, preventative care and handling Administer treatments and medications Monitor and record animal activity Assist with animal handling and restraint Accurate Record Keeping Responsible for raising supplies needed Work to provide a safe environment for students and public while visiting and studying Assess students during their time on the course Communicate and collaborate with students and staff members Cover out of term time to care and feed the animals To be successful in this role, below is what we would need from you: Relevant animal care experience Relevant animal care relevant qualification Good knowledge of a range of animals and reptiles Ability to provide basic animal care Ability to follow safety protocols Ability to work in a team environment Ability to handle and restrain animals Diversity and Inclusion: Equality, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion are central to the work of City of Portsmouth College.
