Thornfield Medical Group is looking for an enthusiastic, patient-focused, and independently motivated Registered Nurse Associate to join our team.
You should be an experienced practitioner, comfortable working independently and under the leadership of our Nurse Manager. You should be able to support our team in the delivery of high-quality patient care.
We are seeking an individual who communicates well at all levels, has excellent interpersonal skills, and is passionate about improving patient care. Travel for home visits is a key requirement of the role.
Main Duties of the Job
1. Assist with Minor Surgery.
2. New patient health checks, NHS Health checks, and Patient Education.
3. Chronic Disease work ups.
4. Administering Flu and/or Pneumococcal and/or B12 injections under the authority of the GP with indemnity and using a Patient Specific Direction as agreed.
5. ECG's.
6. Cytology Sampling.
7. Ordering various clinical items inclusive of equipment, consumables, and vaccines.
8. Vaccine/cold chain storage, monitoring, and recording.
9. Surgical equipment and vaccine re-stocking and stock rotation.
10. Clearing and re-stocking consulting rooms.
11. Preparing and maintaining environments and equipment before, during, and after patient care interventions.
12. Assisting in the assessment and surveillance of patients' health and well-being.
13. Undertaking specific clinical activities for named patients that have been delegated and taught specifically in relation to that individual.
14. Helping to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted.
15. Assisting with the collection and collation of data on needs related to health and well-being.
16. Any other delegated duties appropriate to the post.
About Us
Thornfield Medical Group is located in the East of Newcastle and has a registered population of 20,000 patients. We are an active member of Newcastle East PCN. The demographic of our patient population is varied, providing a healthy challenge to the skill of the clinician. We have a large multidisciplinary team consisting of GP's, ANP's, ACP, Pharmacists, Nurses, HCA's, HWB Coach, and Admin. The team is very supportive, and we are a training practice, always interested in helping our staff develop their skills.
Job Responsibilities
Working to support the Lead Practice Nurse and junior nursing team colleagues strictly in accordance with specific Practice guidelines and protocols. The Nurse Associate will assist the Practice clinical team in the provision and delivery of prescribed programmes of patient care. Training will be given for areas where competency is not already achieved.

Experience
* At least 2 years postgraduate experience within the role.
* Experience of working within a nursing/healthcare team environment.
* Effective interpersonal, communication (both written and oral), presentation, and influencing skills.
* Ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team.
* Ability to deal with difficult situations and potential conflicts.
* Good knowledge of NMC code of conduct and professional accountability.
* Experience of working in primary care.
* Experience of working in a learning disabilities or mental health setting.
* Knowledge of National immunisation and screening programmes.
* Knowledge of the interface between health and social care.
* Experience of IT with Sys One.
Qualifications
* Recognised UK Foundation Degree in Nursing Associate Studies.
* Registered with the NMC as a Nursing Associate.
* Qualification in vaccination and immunisation.
* Cytology qualification.
