About the role
You will work in the residential home providing a loving and caring environment to children aged 8 – 18 years. Working with a close-knit team, you will be supported every step of the way by our dedicated professionals. You will contribute to our great culture which ensures each child is treated with understanding, dignity, kindness and respect.
About you
* Have experience working with children or young people and have an appreciation for working with vulnerable groups
* Ideally have experience working with vulnerable children in a residential setting
* Be able to form positive relationships with children based on respect and openness
* Have an awareness of safeguarding from harm and the ability to assess and manage risk
* Hold or be willing to work towards the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (we will support you with this)
* UK valid Driving licence and access to a vehicle insured for business use
Responsibilities
* Provide direct support and care for children in a residential setting, ensuring their safety and well-being.
* Develop and implement individualized care plans tailored to each child's needs.
* Maintain open communication with children, families, and team members to foster a supportive environment.
* Drive children to appointments and activities as needed, ensuring timely arrivals.
* Document progress and any incidents accurately, utilising IT systems for record-keeping.
* Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance the quality of care provided.
Part time is 24 hours per week with a salary of £19,257.00 per annum inclusive of sleeps.
Please note, the start date for this role will be from January 2025 onwards.
Shift pattern – includes weekends and sleep-ins. 4-week rolling rota; sleeps are 8 across the rota for full-time time and 6 for part-time workers. Shifts are typically 2.30-10.30 pm/7 am-3 pm.
At Bedspace, we are committed to safeguarding and protecting children and adults in our work. This role involves working closely with children and is therefore exempt from the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974. As part of our recruitment, selection, and appointment processes we conduct a range of vetting checks including Enhanced DBS and reference checks, to ensure that only those who are suitable to work with children and those we care for and support are appointed.
If successfully appointed references will be taken for all roles where you have worked with adults and children; additionally, a full work history needs to be included in your CV with explanations for gaps.
