Our Stoke Community Drug and Alcohol service are looking for a Healthcare Assistant to join them in providing high quality recovery care to a diverse client group. Job Opportunity
As a Healthcare Assistant you will assess clients, develop a care plan that will work for them and then, with the support and guidance of the clinical team, provide the necessary treatment. We are here to support anyone who needs help with substance misuse, and you will be part of our clinical team delivering this important service. We work as one team across the service to ensure our clients get the best possible care, referring them on to other specialist teams where needed.
As part of this Healthcare Assistant role, you will also help clients to take a holistic approach to their overall health and recovery journey by helping them to understand the importance of their physical, mental, and emotional wellbeing too.
You may also conduct health screening (Phlebotomy, BBV screening, core observations such as BP, Sats, Pulse, tools and compliance monitoring during treatment) to complement our approaches to holistic healthcare. There will be assessments to carry out and records you need to keep and update, that's all part of our professional commitment and service to our clients and commissioners.

Essential Skills
What we’re looking for
To be able to carry out this Healthcare Assistant role successfully, you will:
* hold an NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care or equivalent
* have a successful track record of working in a healthcare setting and collaborating with a multi-disciplinary team
* have experience of carrying out basic health observations such as blood pressure, pulse, weight, and height
* be able to build effective working relationships with a wide range of different people and work effectively as part of a team
* be able to show how you have developed yourself in previous jobs
* be able to manage your time at work, prioritising effectively and dealing with competing demands on your time
* be confident in your abilities and show your enthusiasm for this role
* have excellent written and verbal communication skills
* be able to accurately collate, record, and maintain information
* be comfortable using IT and digital media
* be able to be flexible with working times and able to travel to other locations from time to time
Ideally you will also have previous experience of working or volunteering with people who misuse substances. We are looking for positive and motivated candidates who are able to communicate with a wide range of people and in different settings. You will also be results driven, highly organised with excellent time management skills.
