Job summary An exciting opportunity has arisen within our Peterborough Critical Care Outreach Team for a 10-month fixed term/secondment. We are seeking an enthusiastic, experienced and highly motivated Band 6/7 Critical Care/Emergency Care/Acute Medicine nurse who is dedicated to delivering excellent patient care outside the critical care area, who has an interest in education and quality improvement? As a Band 7 Critical Care Outreach Nurse Practitioner, you will support the Trust in the delivery of effective, responsive and compassionate care for deteriorating adult patients. You will be responsible for supporting the team with the focus on early recognition of deterioration, timely escalation of care and treatment whilst developing the deteriorating patient care skills within the Trust. There maybe possibility in role becoming permanent Main duties of the job After supernumerary period you will be expected to work collaboratively with ward and critical care clinicians, demonstrate excellent clinical skills and evidenced based decision making, carry out advanced assessment and early intervention and treatments for the deteriorating patients. Excellent communication skills and ability to work autonomously is essential. You will be part of the Resuscitation Team/HospitalNight and would be required as an ALS provider to lead rescue interventions and facilitate transfers to and from critical care. You will work a mixture of days and nights as well as weekends within the team. Formal and informal education is an integral part of this role, and you will take an active part in education and training for junior staff around the management of deteriorating patients. Do you have at least 2 years band 6 experience within an acute environment?Can you stay calm under pressure and have a positive influence on staff and your patient outcome in challenging situations? There will be an opportunity for rotation to the Critical Care Unit to develop level 3 skills.
