We have an excellent opportunity for an inspirational and enthusiastic Teacher of Technology to join our friendly and forward-thinking team at GPUTC for Sept 25. This is an ideal position for either an experienced or early careers teacher who wishes to develop their practice in a supportive and innovative environment. Applications will be considered from those who have had previous teaching experience in industry and educational establishments but are not yet qualified and would be prepared to undertake qualifications to teach.
Our workshops boast CNC Lathe, Mill, Routers, Engravers, Laser Cutters, 3D Printers (FDM and Resin), Manual Lathes and Milling Machines, Forging, Casting, Welding (actual and Augmented Reality) all in addition to your more traditional product design workshop. You will have the opportunity to deliver projects involving electronics and robotics including Lego EV3, Vex, physical computing (Arduino and Raspberry Pi).
The successful applicant will work within a well-established, expanding team of specialist teachers with exceptional industrial experience.
You'll have the opportunity to teach across key stages 3, 4 & 5. Qualifications include OCR Cambridge Technicals (Engineering Design and Engineering Manufacture), GCSE Product Design, A Level Product Design, BTEC Engineering.
We are excited to be offering, in 2024/5, the new ‘T-Level Engineering (Mechanical Engineering)’ qualification which means much more active engagement with employers and industry.
TLRs may be available for a suitably experienced candidate.

The ideal candidate:
* An excellent classroom practitioner with outstanding subject knowledge.
* Able to teach pupils across all key stages with training in the new T level qualification.
* Ability to use IT to support effective teaching and learning.
* Commitment to continuing professional development.
* Qualified Teacher Status and degree in specialist subject. Applications will be considered from those who have previous teaching experience and would be prepared to undertake qualifications to teach.
* Evidence of securing high outcomes from students.
* Effective form tutoring and committed to the importance of pastoral support.
* An excellent understanding and commitment to teaching standards, with the ability to provide stimulating and engaging learning experiences.
* Ability to foster, promote, and maintain good relationships.
* An excellent communicator and team player.
* A creative thinker, with a positive and enthusiastic approach to work.
