As our Principal Advisor Animal Management, you'll work closely with our animal management team, Regulatory Compliance Unit, elected members and leaders within the Council and other key agencies in the region to provide expert advice around legislation and keep them updated with changes. Your responsibilities also include:
* Undertaking audits of processes, procedures and investigation files ensuring that they are fit for purpose and align with the Units Compliance Strategy and VADE model.
* Leading the implementation of significant projects that involve legislation and choosing the best action.
* Preparing research-based reports for Council committees and community boards, particularly around the Council's position on legislative issues.
* Representing Animal Management at meetings and where necessary, responding to media enquiries.
Perhaps your background is in policing, customs, or biosecurity - but wherever you've come from, you'll need to be intimately familiar with analysing legislation and have extensive experience interpreting and applying statutes and regulations within an investigation, enforcement or compliance framework. Most of all you'll need a strong community and customer focus.

Hours of work - 37.5 - 40 hours per week
Position - Permanent
Location- This position is primarily based at 10 Metro Place
Salary-The salary band for this position goes from $105,450 to $117,167 per annum based on a 40 hour week. Starting salaries will be based on knowledge, skills and experience the successful candidate brings to the role, and relativities both, within the immediate team and in the broader organisation for the same or similar roles.
