Great opportunity to work as a Security Officer for G4S. To provide general security of the site by internal and external patrolling, access and egress control, and other duties that exceed customer requirements and comply with Assignment Instructions, with a focus on customer service and care.

G4S is recruiting for a Security Officer to work in Worthing on a zero hours basis - perfect for picking up those additional hours without the commitment of a full-time position.
The rate of pay is GBP13.26 per hour.
Shifts will generally be 12-hour shifts and will be a mix of days, nights, and weekends -
7:00 AM - 7:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM.

Your Time at Work
As a Security Officer at G4S, you are more than a Security Guard. You'll ensure the safety of our customers' staff, their buildings, and assets, whilst providing excellent customer service with a smile. We pride ourselves on delivering excellent customer service in a safe and secure environment. Other duties include:
1. Provide security of perimeter fence and access and egress controls.
2. Operate external and internal security patrols as per the Assignment Instructions.
3. Operate radios and any other physical equipment used on site.
4. Provide traffic control and apply parking restrictions when required.
5. Provide traffic control and banksman duties for the goods in/out area.
6. Monitor and effectively manage CCTV systems to protect customer employees and assets.
7. Conduct mail screening duties by use of X-Ray screening equipment.
8. Operate stop and search policies when instructed by GSK.
9. Carry out initial investigations and report both verbally and in writing on incidents, suspicious activities, objects, and vehicles.
10. Report instances of property at risk of being lost, stolen, damaged, and vandalised.
11. Conduct routine tests of security equipment as directed by G4S Duty Management.
12. Perform locking and unlocking duties.
13. Ensure keys are handled in accordance with procedures laid down in the Assignment Instructions.
14. Respond to requests for assistance.
15. Fully understand the use of relevant IT equipment and the GSK IT Security policy.
16. Enforce a clear desk policy.
17. Display an outstanding level of customer focus and understand the reasons for it.
18. Enforce access and egress procedures stated in Assignment Instructions in a polite but assertive manner.
19. Ability to take responsibility for problems that staff and visitors may have.
20. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
21. Ability to take responsibility and deal with conflict situations.
22. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with individuals at all levels.
23. Display the highest standard of personal presentation to maintain the image of both GSK and G4S.

Our Perfect Worker
Our perfect worker will need to be aged 18 or over, a confident communicator who is a team player with the drive to provide a friendly and professional service at all times. Good IT knowledge is also key.
We will need to have an SIA license.
