Job Purpose About the role: As an Assistant Business Manager, you will be instrumental in driving the success of our Banking and Investments team. You will support the Senior Business Manager in developing and monitoring strategic plans aligned with the National Wealth Fund’s mission. Your role will involve ensuring operational excellence, managing projects from start to finish, and providing crucial governance and reporting support. You will also play a key part in fostering a collaborative culture across our large team. By staying attuned to the needs of stakeholders and maintaining strong relationships, you will help us navigate complex challenges and take on new opportunities. Core Responsibilities Strategic Planning & Reporting: Contribute to monitoring the team’s strategic targets, working closely with the Operations and Data lead in developing reporting and providing analysis to support decision-making. Operational Excellence: Ensure smooth operations across the Banking & Investments team by documenting process and procedures and identifying improvement opportunities. Governance Support: Assist in the planning, management, and development of agendas and content for Banking & Investments team meetings and governance forums. Project Management: Support the management of a wide range of projects from initiation to completion, ensuring that all milestones and deadlines are met. Risk Management: Collaborate with colleagues to identify and mitigate risks, ensuring compliance with industry regulations and guidelines. Team Building: Play an active role in building and motivating a high-performing team. Implement innovative ideas that enhance team cohesion and collaboration in a hybrid work environment. Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain positive working relationships with Banking & Investments team members and others across NWF. Understand the needs and concerns of both junior and senior stakeholders. Knowledge, Skills & Experience Relevant Experience: A background in financial services, government or another regulated field, in business or project management. Project Management: Strong project management skills. Experience in supporting change initiatives in complex organisational settings. Organised & Structured: Highly organised and structured thinker, with excellent communication skills. Ability to convey information clearly and concisely, with an attention to detail. Relationship Building: Experience working in cross-functional teams. Ability to build collaborative relationships across all levels of the organisation. Analytical: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Experience distilling complex information to produce materials to support decision-making. Adaptability: Flexible and adaptable; able to work in dynamic and fast-paced environments. Comfort with context-switching and a degree of ambiguity. Technical Proficiency: Skilled in MS Office applications, particularly Excel and PowerPoint. Experience developing data models, dashboards and reporting in Power BI would be beneficial.
