The role
As a Project Engineer, you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. This entry-level role in Project Management provides the chance to work on key Devonport projects, with excellent career progression into areas like Project Management, Engineering, Risk, and more.
Day-to-day, you’ll support the department’s project function by providing project updates, assisting with scheduling, and using data analysis to identify and implement improvement opportunities for Project Managers.
* Capture an array of engineering data relating to the dockyard’s Welding & NDT outputs to drive improvements.
* Maintain and collaborate to a standardised reporting culture within the department.
* Ordering of materials and ensuring their registration, and calibration records are compliant.
* Assist with bespoke projects, effectively interacting with a large range of stakeholders.
This role is full time, 35 hours per week and provides hybrid working arrangements.
Essential experience of the Project Engineer
* Strong computer literacy with a willingness to adapt to new software.
* Solid understanding of Welding Quality Management and its critical outputs.
* Proficient in statistical methods with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Exceptional interpersonal skills for engaging with teams, stakeholders, and suppliers.
* Valuable knowledge of project and equipment life cycles.
Qualifications for the Project Engineer
* Preferably holds an ONC or C&G qualification in a relevant engineering discipline; however, equivalent relevant experience will be considered.
* Business Administration NVQ Level 2 and 3 qualifications - Desirable.
* Association of Project Management Project Fundamentals Qualification - Desirable.
Security Clearance
The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
