Location: Northfield, Birmingham, B31
Day Rate: £90-£105
Days: Monday to Friday (Term Time Only)
Hours: 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM
Start Date: 06/01/2024
Contract: Long-Term Temp to PermLTF Recruitment is seeking a proactive teaching assistant to support a Year 1 class at a welcoming primary school in Northfield. This long-term role has the potential to become permanent for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering engaging lessons.
Support pupils in developing foundational skills in phonics, reading, writing, and maths.
Encourage independence and readiness for learning among Year 1 pupils.
Monitor and record pupil progress, providing feedback to the teacher and parents as required.
Promote positive behaviour and manage challenging situations in line with school policies.
Provide emotional and social support to build confidence and self-esteem in pupils.
Supervise pupils during break times, excursions, and school activities.
Collaborate with colleagues and external professionals to support SEN or EAL pupils.Candidate Requirements
Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools (or equivalent).
Minimum of 1 year of experience working in a primary school.
Experience supporting children with SEN and managing challenging behaviour.
Knowledge of safeguarding principles and child protection procedures.
Understanding of behaviour management strategies.About the School
