Permanent, Full Time 37 hours a week. Working Monday to Friday between 9am and 5pm We have an excellent opportunity for a Finance Assistant to join our Central Services in Fareham. About the role Our Finance Assistant will provide assistance within the finance department in areas of daily financial administration and other clerical duties. Main responsibilities of the role include, but are not limited to: Maintaining the purchase ledger, recording invoices onto the OPERA register, distributing them to services as appropriate for authorisation and dealing with queries Monitoring the finance email inbox and dealing with any arising issues Preparing the weekly payment runs, including the miscellaneous BACS run and cheques as required Reconciling all PL statements Maintaining the various utility contracts spreadsheets, including gas, electric and phones. Preparing and maintaining accruals and prepayments Maintaining finance records, as required At all times, work within the organisation's equal opportunities and anti - discriminatory policies Our ideal candidate will have: Good working knowledge of Microsoft package - including Word, Excel and Outlook Knowledge of Pegasus Opera accounts package Knowledge of SharePoint – desirable The ability to work as part of a team as well as on own initiative The ability to cope with large volumes of invoices and process in a timely manner A full drivers’ licence and access to a vehicle A basic disclosure and barring service check is a requirement for this role.
