EPUT is looking to appoint an enthusiastic Consultant Psychiatrist to join ourWest Epping Specialist CMHT based at Rectory Lane, Loughton, Essex. This post is covering the area of Loughton.
This post is for community-based consultant in the West Epping specialist community mental health team following the transformation of services, which became effective from January 2021.The team provides community services for patient referred to the secondary mental health by GP surgeries within the Neighbourhood localities of West Epping, Loughton, Buckhurst Hill and Chigwell. The team serves an adult population of around 49000. Loughton has been ranked as a nice place to live, it is located right on the border of Epping Forest. Loughton is a vibrant market town in the county of Essex's 'Golden Triangle'. It is the perfect location for Londoner's looking to move out of the capital and start a family, with well-connected commuter trains and beautiful countryside spots right on your doorstep.
The post-holder is required to work independently and accountably as part of a team of clinicians offering Mental Health services. Working collaboratively with key partner organisations, service users, carers, clinicians and other practitioners within the multi-disciplinary team in delivering services; providing a 7 day a week, 24 hours a day service for 365 days a year.
You must have full GMC registration and be on the Specialist Register, with an appropriate CCT or equivalent or be within six months of obtaining your CCT on the date of the AAC.
Epping Forest district is a mixture of rural and urban areas and the key population centres are the commuter towns of Loughton, Chigwell and Buckhurst Hill, as well as the market towns of Epping, Waltham Abbey and Ongar. Some areas of the district have relatively good transport links with both the M11 and M25 motorways running through the area. Mainline railway networks run south to London and the Central Line tube has five stops in the district from Buckhurst Hill to Epping.

1. Attend twice weekly MDT meetings to discuss and support ongoing care of patients.
2. Provide regular clinics to review patients via CPA process.
3. Provide flexible emergency medical support for the team’s patients.
4. Support patients under the MHA and the processes required under the MHA.
5. Support clinically and supervise your specialty doctor and trainee doctor.
6. Work collaboratively with Primary Care.
7. Liaise with other services within the organization and outside of the organization to optimize the care of your patients.
