Position Description:
Seminal is seeking an experienced Artist Liaison to expand Seminal's reach in Asia.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing and maintaining positive relationships with artists, partners, and stakeholders to ensure they are supported throughout their experience with Seminal, while upholding the utmost professionalism.
Responsibilities:
1. Act as the primary point of contact for your region’s Seminal artists, providing excellent, meaningful, and tailored support.
2. Manage artist onboarding, field questions, and offer interface support as needed.
3. Develop and maintain positive relationships with artists, providing clear and timely communication to ensure needs are met, resolving any difficulties swiftly and effortlessly.
4. Act interdepartmentally to provide artist assets and information to colleagues as requested.
5. Manage and maintain artist records and contact information.
6. Manage artist contracting, from provision to signing, including explanation of each clause concisely.
7. Bring a client book of exceptional artists and arts industry professionals.
8. Coordinate and assist with artist recruitment efforts, including outreach.
9. Collaborate with other team members to plan and execute events, artist talks, and other initiatives related to promoting the organization and its artists.
10. Uphold the brand's image to the highest standard.
11. Attend art-related events such as gallery openings and artist talks, especially as they relate to Seminal artists.
12. Believe wholeheartedly in the importance of protecting & licensing artists' Intellectual Property; and take an expansive view on how Seminal will benefit the industry.
Requirements:
1. Currently working directly with artists in your region.
2. Fluent English, and proficient ability to translate Japanese to English (and vice versa).
3. Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, related field, or equivalent experience.
4. An evidenced and extensive understanding of the commercial fine art sector.
5. At least 2 years of experience in artist management, communications, or other related fields.
6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain positive relationships with a diverse range of artists, stakeholders, and colleagues.
7. Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.
8. Experience with artist contracts, including understanding of legal terms and practices.
9. Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to think creatively to resolve issues related to artist management and logistics.
10. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to achieve organizational goals.
11. Strong working understanding of the Microsoft Suite, including Excel.
