Bloomberg’s Legal & Compliance Department plays a critical role in supporting our businesses and operations around the world. The Global Compliance team within Bloomberg’s Legal & Compliance Department provides coverage of our regulated entities and products including support for our non-regulated products and services. We work to address regulatory issues, ensure compliance with current/developing rules and regulations, and correspond with regulators.
What's The Role?
We have an exciting role where you will be helping lead compliance support for Bloomberg’s Environmental, Governance, and Social (ESG) products and services. The role will focus on identifying, assessing, and mitigating compliance and regulatory risks applicable to ESG products and services under UK, EU and other current and future regulatory expectations. You will be working with our global Compliance team, along with Legal and Risk colleagues, to provide ongoing compliance support and guidance.
You will need to be a quick learner with a background in financial markets, data, and technology, as well as relevant experience with evolving ESG principles (for example, the IOSCO Recommendations for ESG Ratings and Data Providers). You should also be familiar with proposed or recently adopted regulations like the EU ESG Ratings Regulation, CSRD, and CSDDD. Knowledge of regulations that may impact these areas of the business could include existing or evolving regulations related to ESG, investment advice, benchmark administration, and alternative data.
You'll need to have:
1. Over 8 years of experience in the financial services sector with exposure to ESG, in a compliance and/or risk management role.
2. Experience with regulators engagements and working familiarity with global rules, interpretative guidance, and directives relating to the provision of ESG ratings, scores, and data products.
3. The ability to conduct technical and detailed reviews of methodologies for scores, pricing, and data products.
4. Experience with ESG transparency, governance, conflict of interest management, and implementation of comprehensive systems and controls to comply with applicable regulatory requirements.
5. The ability to assess, interpret, and provide pragmatic guidance on issues relative to a suite of business products offered as information for making investment decisions.
6. Experience of identifying and managing risk, including risk framework and issue management.
7. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and strong attention to detail, specifically in drafting policies, procedures, manuals, and reports for senior management.
8. Demonstrated ability to address multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
9. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of a team.
10. An analytical mind with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
11. Willingness to roll up your sleeves and help out even when it’s not in your job description.

We'd love to see:
1. Familiarity with regulatory risks associated with pricing, index, and research compliance matters under U.K., EU, and/or U.S. regulations.
2. An understanding of the language of data to work closely with data management professionals, data analysts, and data scientists.
3. Broad understanding of the financial markets, to review, understand, and discuss in-depth methodology documents, research, and analysis.
4. Experience with Bloomberg, in particular Bloomberg Intelligence, BloombergNEF, BVAL or BPIPE.
