A rewarding opportunity has arisen for a Behaviour Support Assistant to join an alternative provision in Birkenhead. This role is ideal for a dedicated and resilient individual who is committed to supporting students who have faced challenges in mainstream education. The successful candidate will provide structure, encouragement, and guidance to help students overcome barriers to learning and reach their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
* Providing targeted support to students with social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs, helping them re-engage with education.
* Building trusting relationships to create a safe and supportive learning environment.
* Implementing effective behaviour management strategies to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviour.
* Encouraging students to develop positive attitudes toward learning and personal growth.
* Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and external professionals to develop tailored intervention plans.
Person Specification:
* Experience working with students with SEMH needs, challenging behaviour, or in alternative provision settings is highly desirable.
* Strong behaviour management skills with the ability to remain calm and composed under pressure.
* A patient, understanding, and adaptable approach to working with young people.
* A genuine commitment to making a positive impact on students’ education and well-being.
