We are looking for a dedicated Lead Nurse (Band 8b) – Medicines Management to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Registered General Nurse (RGN) to lead and support key areas in medical device and medicines management. As part of our team, you’ll play a vital role in improving patient safety standards, supporting the Medical Device Safety Officer (MDSO), and contributing to the corporate nursing division’s ongoing efforts in ensuring high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead on Medical Devices and Medicines Management and ensuring compliance with professional standards.
* Support the Medical Device Safety Officer with managing device assets, registers, and maintenance.
* Addressing capacity issues, particularly with ECGs and other critical equipment.
* Collaboration with Corporate Nursing Division
* Maintain Professional Standards working with infection prevention & control (IPC) guidelines, and support resuscitation and mortality processes.
* Bridge Physical Health Needs in Mental Health Care by providing essential support in addressing physical health skills gaps among mental health nurses.
Experience & Skills Required:
* Registered General Nurse (RGN) with current NMC registration.
* Senior nursing experience at Band 8a or Band 8b level.
* Acute hospital experience preferred.
* Mental health knowledge is an advantage but not essential.
* Strong leadership and organizational skills.
* Ability to manage medical devices and medicines effectively.
* Knowledge of infection prevention & control (IPC).
* Excellent communication skills and team collaboration
