Main duties of the job
The successful post holder will provide ante-natal, post-natal, and intrapartum care to women with low and high-risk pregnancies. They will rotate through all areas of the service as required, including Continuity of Carer and Community, supported by the newly appointed midwifery retention support midwife.
You will also have access to the lead Professional Midwifery Advocate (PMA) and a team of PMAs for additional support when needed.

Job responsibilities
The post holder will provide high-quality, integrated midwifery care in hospital and community settings throughout pregnancy, labour, and postnatal periods, possibly as part of an integrated continuity of carer team.
* Act as the woman's advocate, promoting and delivering high standards of midwifery care, adhering to policies and procedures.
* Assess physical, psychological, and spiritual needs using evidence-based practice; plan, implement, and evaluate care with the woman and her family.
* Maintain accurate reports, observations, and care plans, including electronic records.
* Monitor the woman's condition, interpret observations, identify deviations, and report or refer as needed.
* Keep the woman and her family informed, maintaining confidentiality.
* Ensure flexible midwifery care to meet diverse needs.
* Undertake clinical skills per trust policies relevant to the role and care.

Qualifications and Professional Training
* Evidence of ongoing CPD linked to clinical competencies
* Registered Band 6 midwife
* Possession or pursuit of relevant degree
Experience and Knowledge
* Post-registration experience, including relevant clinical environments
* Experience in research and audit participation
* Knowledge of safeguarding procedures
