We are looking for a Stockman/Shepherd to undertake the following duties on a day-to-day basis: ? Key Responsibilities ? Maintain a Herd of Breeding Cattle as per the Estates requirements Accurately record all Cattle/Calves births, deaths, dosing's, and movements Arrange handling days as per individual season requirement Responsible for Herd Husbandry and Welfare Maintain a flock of Breeding Sheep as per the Estate requirements Accurately record all Sheep births, deaths, dosing's, dipping's and movements Arrange Sheep gatherings, shearing and dosing as per individual seasons Responsible for flocks Husbandry and Welfare Full Knowledge of the Animal Welfare Act 2006 Carry out all Grassland works, Fertiliser, Cropping, Dung, Field Rotation etc. Fence & Gate maintenance, erection & repair where applicable Keep all Agricultural sheds, buildings, yard's tidy and well presented Cutting Trees/Grass on lawns, verge's, keep all grounds tidy and well presented Assist with Hill Roads and Argo Track repairs/maintenance Additional occasional duties when required Assist the clients and guests during visits in varied activities as and when required Assist during the Deer Culling and counting season Carry out general maintenance on the Estate Any other general Estate duties as and when required Knowledge/Experience/Skills/Abilities ? Proven experience of working with a large herd/flock of cattle/sheep and other livestock in varied climates and conditions Highly experienced in calving/lambing Have good working dogs Experienced in the use of farm machinery and equipment Proven ability to use ATV's - Quads, Gators, Argo's Proven ability to use ATV's - Argos, Quads, Gators Possess a full valid UK driving licence Personal Attributes Motivated and hardworking Exceptional verbal communications skills Able to demonstrate absolute confidentiality, integrity and exceptional diplomacy Able to work with minimal supervision and use own initiative Ability to build relationships with internal and external clients at all levels Quality and results driven Reliable and punctual Able to work flexible hours Benefits ? 20 days annual leave bank holidays House and 4x4 pickup will be provided Pension scheme Private healthcare Vet's bills and dog food covered by the Estate Apply now.
