St James’s is a member of the Bishop Fraser Trust, a C of E multi academy trust established in 2017. This is an exciting time to join us as it provides a great opportunity to work closely with the other three schools in the MAT Bury C of E High School, Canon Slade School and Bolton St Catherine’s Academy; sharing good practice and building on our ongoing progress.
Main Duties:
* To work with and supervise individuals and groups of students under the direction/instruction of teaching and or senior staff, inclusive of specific individual learning needs, supporting target setting for students and enabling access to learning for all students.
* Assisting in managing students, sometimes significant and challenging behaviour through the use of a range of strategies and techniques
The successful candidate will:
* Demonstrate flexibility, good teamwork and a commitment to the school’s value of ‘Let your light shine’
* Enjoy working as part of a team and be able to communicate effectively with pupils, parents and staff;
* Be committed to supporting the progress and wellbeing of pupils with special needs;
* Quickly build rapport and effective professional relationships with both our young people and colleagues;
* Enthuse and motivate colleagues and students to work hard and try their best;
* Show an understanding of special educational needs within a school setting (including autistic spectrum, learning difficulties, behavioural and emotional difficulties);
* Demonstrate personal resilience and role model those personal qualities we wish to instill in our young people.
The working hours will be:
Mon/Tue/Thu/Fri 8.40am 3.15pm (including a half hour unpaid break)
Wed 8.40am 3.05pm (including a half hour unpaid break)
