We are looking for a user & data driven enthusiastic Product Manager to join us and work on one of our key data products. As a DWP MI Product Manager, you will lead and drive high profile products for the large and complex DWP MI programme. This role will require working with SOS and teams with regular/short notice travel to London a requirement.
This role is specifically in DWP MI (Management Information) leading work on MI reporting and visualisations across the Department. Working with modern technology you will utilise Power BI (and similar) to enable the business to gain insight and make more informed decisions. You will be as passionate about people as you are about products, leading teams to define, design and deliver your vision and realise the value for your users. You will work with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver high quality products supporting the increased use of data across DWP, ensuring that the needs of our users are met.
Working with modern technology you will utilise bespoke and off-the-shelf dashboard and visualisation products that enable the business to gain insight and make more informed decisions. The work is fast paced with a large and growing portfolio of MI products that are relied upon by all, from front line managers to the Secretary of State. Flexibility and responsiveness of the products are crucial.
You'll be part of a supportive team where you will work together to design and build the right things.
The role may not be easy at times, but you’ll be well supported, and you’ll get a minimum of 5 days learning and development annually.

You’ll need to have a proven track record of working as a product manager in complex data-oriented digital environments delivering MI solutions to Senior stakeholders.
Roles & Responsibilities
* Developing the product strategy.
* Owning the product roadmap.
* Making key priority calls.
* Making evidence-based strategic and tactical product choices.
* Communicating product success to stakeholders.
* Explaining controversial choices about your product.
* Work with Digital, Operations and other stakeholders to develop products for the DWP MI programme.
* Provide leadership and direction to the product teams, working with multi-disciplinary teams to shape the scope and high-level roadmaps for critical MI products and services.
* Track progress against goals and performance metrics for all MI products within the programme evaluating success against defined outcome.
* Co-ordinate development across multiple MI products.
* Ensure MI products are developed to an appropriate level of quality taking into consideration data, user and accessibility requirements.
* Manage team members within the product teams
* Build and maintain a relationship with external partners, seeking to capitalise on their knowledge and expertise.
* You will have proven ability to lead a team of digital and data professionals, setting direction and enabling creation of data-oriented products.
* Experience working with senior stakeholders, at Secretary of State & all SCS Levels, across multiple business areas to build great self-service MI Products.
* Experience in developing data products, alongside meaningful, value driven roadmaps that guide your team/s and stakeholders in the use and adoption of MI.
* Have experience in developing and continuously improving service, increasing performance, quality and purpose.
* Experience of driving customer insight and be committed to User Centred Design to develop digital services with a high degree of user awareness.
* Experience of actively leading & managing significant Data Products in a complex data-oriented environment
The role will involve line management responsibility for team members.
